6:00 out of camp and on the way. Bring 14 foot boat and 9.9 motor across the portage. 3 of us in the boat looking to set up on three points to get a moose. A couple of tricky rapid sets and we are in virgin territory. 10:30 large bull on shoreline 450 yards out, no moose. 2:00 nice bull in bay, a short stalk and two shots later, 1 moose down. 4:30 boat loaded and on the way back to camp. Midnight hit the fart sack. Good day.
Tues 2nd
Nice breakfast. Trip into town to see Moose Masher and his bull. Flat tire on road back to camp.
Wed 3rd
Go to portage to get canoe and call it a week. Last bend before portage, bull, cow and calf on the bank. Hour and a half later and a 500 yard stock. Cow and calf down. Back to camp. Fantastic week.
The kids were happy to see the moose and can't wait to join us in a couple of years.

Huntsman on threat to my life for my hunting buddies. I can only tell you it is one of the northern Ontario zones that opens early for rifle. Sorry.
