I'm really hoping that next year Robinson Armaments will come out with the .308 version of the xcr. :D

The Norinco M-14 will have to do till then...

Theres the M1919A4 in 7.62. Not mag fed but belt fed and if you use origional cloth belts, theres no capacity restrictions either. Mind you, it may not be the ideal hunting gun unless you are prepared to dig a trench, sandbag the gun, and wait.

ARVN & some African armies (S Africa & Rhodesia) were lugging these around like a GPMG in the bush. Just hook it onto a heavy duty rifle sling, put a customized mono pod on & you can carry one around just like a M60 or Mag58.

The Ruger Mini 30 also has a .308" barrel. 7.62 x 39 surplus ammo uses a .311" bullet. The Ruger Mini 30 is just as over priced and inaccurate as the Mini-14.
The Springfield Armoury M1A isn't restricted. Expensive, but not restricted. Neither it nor the M305 are M14's though.

Springfield Armoury M1A isn't restricted - great I didn't know that. then why is SA M14 restricted/ :?: :?

ooh how much was that thing of beauty ?

If you were refering to my 7.62X54R, the regular price was about 2200$ if I recall, but I got this one on sale at ARMRUS for 1400$ plus taxes.
BTW Armrus was the finest gunshop I ever came in, I'm really sad the owner had to sell the shop.

I got it this summer but I hadn't got the time to fire it yet...
