How many of you cut down SKS stripper clips?

Its just so easy to cut the 10 rd clips in half, crimp them a little at the cut and you have two 5 rd clips. Work perfectly, been using them for years like that.

I also paint the "down" or "magazine" end red just in case I'm using my Skoose on a 3 Gun course (just for the hell of it).

I've tried chopping them and it works but now days I prefer to wrap half with electrical tape to make a handle. I have more clips than I could ever load anyway.

I just load original clip with 5 rounds, was thinking about cutting stripper clip, but then decided not to, I have no issues load 5 rounds from 10 rounds clip and who knows, maybe one day we could lift the restrictions, or at least make it 10 rounds : )

I keep my clips original. Never know when the 5 round limit will be repealed...

Count me as another who cut all of their x39 stripper clips in half. Far more useful and handy in reloading my Vz.58.

If you cut then with bolt cutters it crimps it at the same time, pretty easy operation. The only down side is if you use a chicom bandolier, getting the second cut section out of the bandolier isn't quick sometimes.

For hunting this week I took a zip tie placed it next to the 5th round on the clip then covered the empty space with electrical tape. This worked perfect stored in a pocket or the front of my dices overalls for a quick pull reload.

Will make this my primary deer rifle with rapid reloads avail... lol volume sometimes works as well as accuracy

I fill the clips with 10 and shove them down from the top of the tenth. Five go in nice and easy.
