Well unless you've got all the ORA/OGA safehouses in your GPS - whats it going to tell them?
I used my Garmin Etrex over in Afghan as both Mil and Private - and use it in Iraq - I have the FOB's marked - but you really cant miss a FOB anyway - they launch rockets onto them all the time. and I doubt my 10fig gr for a spot on the FOB will help with the - "prop this 107mm up on this rock at this sort of angle and aiming over there" methodology of aiming that they use in Iraq -- secondly if they wanted one they'd already have the gr, as they've pretty much paced of whatever targets they want already. Rob Mc hit that point bang on.
Secondly - people give WAY to much credence to the ability of zeroizing comms or other items - getting rocked by an IED you may not have the chance, - its a fine concept - but how many people actual train to zeroize in cbt?
Like any piece of technology - it has its pro's and cons' - you have to know and respect that - and balance those to make a determination if the tool is right for you.
