How many rnds between cleaning?

Thanks for the advice guys. Looks like everyone is on the same page. Do you guys run a dry patch through before shooting if you run the oiled one after or does it matter?

for target shooting, the barrel is quite warm but for big game hunting, the only one that count is that first cold barrel shot
all rifle will react different but I have seen the first cold shot after cleaning to be one foot off ( at 400 yards) the others

so before I go for my trip, I clean the barrel(only carbon) and go back to shoot couple of shots and leave it

clean bore

I shoot Montana prarie dogs with a 22-250 stoked to the max. If i shoot one day and dont clean the next day at about 150 to 175 rounds my gun will start shooting very high. my cleaning regime is to clean till i see no blue then shoot the bore with brake clean and then my first cold bore shot is dead on. My barrels are stainless so i dont worry about rust
