How many rounds per year do you shoot at 1000yds. distance?
What is the distance you practice at most often?
How many rounds per year would you shoot at ....
100, 200, 300, ..., 1000yds. etc?

depends on how many practices and matches attended and the discipline you're involved with.

the formats vary and they probably vary across the country.

You could look at it this way... most matches are 2/15 two sighters, 15 for score; sometimes there's unlimited sighters and as of late blow-off periods are being including before the start of the first yardage of the day... 3-5 shots for that...

some yardages can be 2/10 and some matches involve up to 4 yardages so looking at max... 4 times 2/15 or 68 shots, plus warming or fouling shots...

there are times when only three yardage are shot, so reduce the max...

With regards to practice dates... that individualistic in nature... some guys try and do at least a couple of relays of 2/15, some during practice don't organize themselves as if they were shooting in a match so their round count varies.

Then there's possibly practices, or tuning at local club's which usually only go out to 300 max. more like 100-200 yards... here you check zeroes, chrony loads, do load development.

if you're involved in f-class with say a 6.5 .284 round count it not high on those barrels so you kinda avoid playing around with them at short distance other than getting your zero, checking speeds, and making sure your load is working.

if you're into long range then your mostly looking at the match and practice dates for 800-900-1000...

I suppose if your competitive you'd be looking at say 1000 rounds a year, depends or you can throw in the provincial and national matches... it varies in otherwords...

if you're compettive you'd be buying probably based on 1000 lots otherwise consistency in bullets/primers/powder goes to hell in a handbasket.

precision, tactical and service guys can fill you in on their respective disciplines...

As many rds as I can. As far as I compete.

You can never get too much practise. The shooter who doesn't need practise cause they have it all dialed in, usually doesn't make the top 10.

Ideally, the rd count will be a few hundred per outing and a few outings per week, every week no matter the weather.

Since we all have lives and limited budgets, you do the best you can. Simulate the game you want to play as closely as possible with smaller cals at close range.

The 22LR is a wonderful training/practise tool. Quite inexpensive to shoot and you can practise lots at 100 to 200yds. The practise of trigger control, breathing, body form all come from repetition. Literally thousands of rds need to be fired before you get some semblance of memory.

Then it takes a few months and your body forgets it all.

Learning to read conditions at distance will only come from practise. you will never see it all and nature always throws a curve ball. The winners have the ability to 'see' what others don't and adjust before pulling the trigger.

Although considered the best golfer in recent times, Tiger Woods is usually the first on the practise tees and the last to leave.

I'm shooting about 2K worth of rounds every year. From January to March is 300 yard practice and load development. April and May is 800 yard (private range) practice. Up until September or so is a mix of long range F class, precision shooting, and 800 yard practice. I would guesstimate 1K shooting at about 100 to 200 rounds max. After Thanksgiving weekend it's hunting season.
