depends on how many practices and matches attended and the discipline you're involved with.
the formats vary and they probably vary across the country.
You could look at it this way... most matches are 2/15 two sighters, 15 for score; sometimes there's unlimited sighters and as of late blow-off periods are being including before the start of the first yardage of the day... 3-5 shots for that...
some yardages can be 2/10 and some matches involve up to 4 yardages so looking at max... 4 times 2/15 or 68 shots, plus warming or fouling shots...
there are times when only three yardage are shot, so reduce the max...
With regards to practice dates... that individualistic in nature... some guys try and do at least a couple of relays of 2/15, some during practice don't organize themselves as if they were shooting in a match so their round count varies.
Then there's possibly practices, or tuning at local club's which usually only go out to 300 max. more like 100-200 yards... here you check zeroes, chrony loads, do load development.
if you're involved in f-class with say a 6.5 .284 round count it not high on those barrels so you kinda avoid playing around with them at short distance other than getting your zero, checking speeds, and making sure your load is working.
if you're into long range then your mostly looking at the match and practice dates for 800-900-1000...
I suppose if your competitive you'd be looking at say 1000 rounds a year, depends or you can throw in the provincial and national matches... it varies in otherwords...
if you're compettive you'd be buying probably based on 1000 lots otherwise consistency in bullets/primers/powder goes to hell in a handbasket.
precision, tactical and service guys can fill you in on their respective disciplines...
