How many shooters have a new AIA M10 7.62x51??

I got under an inch group first time out,it had an older Bausch & Lomb 6x on it for the first tests. I am hoping to get back a 6x24 Mildot that got sent back to Bushnell to do some long range tests with soon.
The 150 grain loads clocked in at 2775 fps out of the 22 inch tube,these were not book max loads as I was going for accuracy. In the process of working up the loads for it I managed to get some really decent accuracy. These are really solidly made pieces and only 200 a year were made because they are all hand fitted like old school guns were made.The fit and finish is comparable to anything on the market today. I added a bi-pod stud on my M10-B1 as it was not equipped with one from the factory. From the really nice Teak stock with the Monte Carlo cheekpiece, the beefed up receiver,positive ejection of empties due to Remington styled plunger,fully adjustable headspace like the Savage's , fully adjustable front and rear sights,chrome lined barrel, and a finish that is very nicely deep blued.The trigger work was done to it before I bought it and it is the nicest one stage I have ever fired.

Picked up my M10-B3 from Canada Post today.

I have to say, I'm really impressed with the fit and finish. Once I got it out of the box, I just couldn't stop cycling the bolt and aiming at various items in my home. The peep sites seem like they might be useful, so I look forward to comparing the open sites to scoped at some point. I've got a LE .303 jungle carbine that my father bought in the 50's, and the the AIA seems to have much nicer materials and build quality. Mind you, I've never handled a new LE so perhaps my comparison is not fair(my LE has >60 years of wear and tear).

Once I get some scope rings, I'll be mounting a scope and taking it to the range. I plan on doing some back to back comparisons between the B3 and my Tikka T3 Tactical. I'll post the results when I have them...

You are going to like shooting it ................. a lot.:D
I would say that if you do your part, the B3 will match the Tikka for accuracy.
 
"if you do your part" We'll, that's always the catch;-) My consistency, even with the tikka, is not very good(yet). I'd like to blame the SA surplus ammo that I have stockpiled, but even the crappy ammo can't explain some of my 100 yard groupings that look like cylinder bore shotgun patterns.


I'm just getting into reloading, but so far I've only got the gear for pistols (square deal-b, dies for 9mm, .40S&W, and .45 acp). Once I get rigged up to reload rifle ammo, I should be able to run some more conclusive tests between the Tikka and AIA using uniformly consistent ammo. But, for the short term, I plan on using my surplus SA ammo as it's paid for, it was relatively cheap, and it'd be collecting dust otherwise.


Anyway, I was just calling around Vancouver looking for scope rings. Lever didn't have any suitable for my spare scope, Reliable is closed today, and I can't travel too far during business hours(I'm at work). I'm playing poker on Friday night, so Saturday morning is going to be a late start. If I'm lucky, I might be able to get the guns to the range on Saturday. Sunday's a write off as I'm signed up for 45acpking's M14 clinic(looking forward to that!). So, it's looking like it might take me a while to get everything ready for the Tikka vs AIA showdown.
 
I just got back from the range with my B1 Sporter ,I pulled some old 180 grain Sabretip reloads and assembled them into new cases. I got under an inch with the old tech bullets.
I shot five fast rounds without letting the barrel cool,you could put all five inside a deers eyeball at 100 yds.................:D

Stop teasing me! You know darn well it's not hunting season yet, so that's just plain cruel to get me thinking about notching a deer tag. ;-)



Now you got me thinking about skipping work to go shopping for those rings, or else cannibalizing one of my other tuned rigs so I can hit the range asap. (I'd hate to have to resight a nicely tuned platform after cannibalizing it just for the rings, but I've done worse on an impulse...)

As far as off the shelf ammo goes, what would you recommend for some accurate testing? Anything that you've fed your M10 and that you can say for sure your AIA likes to eat?
