How many years is the Black Badge Certification good for in IPSC ?

It's fun to win, or at least be competitive isn't it?

Everyone's idea of what fun is is going to be different.

I see it this way. How many sports allow you to compete on the same course and under the same rules as national or even world class competitors. It could be like walking 18 holes with Tiger Woods. You may not beat him but don't tell me that isn't fun in itself. You may aspire to be competitive with Tiger...

Or you could just shoot for fun...

thats why i took my bb a few years ago................i have no illussion of being world champ..............and with family and shift work ( 2 weekend a month ) club level matches or MAYBE A LEVEL 2 1 or 2 a year is the best ill get to attend ..........
and the bb course was excellent ( restigouche gun club in northern nb )

im not competetive at all, i like setting up events, meeting people, shooting, thats the fun part for me. i like learning from experienced guys, going out for a beer and food after a match and have some laughs :)

Exactly.. too often the new shooters who do want to help are criticized for anal items. eg thanks for the stage idea, but our course length (short, medium, long) is not balanced for this Level 1 match, so better luck next time.. First question should always be.. "Is it safe".. and if the answer is "yes",, then start HELPING those people get more involved in the sport... if the answer is "NO".. WORK with them to fix THEIR stage idea.. my .02
