how much 7.62x39 surp is left?

interrested to hear from some guys like CanAm and others that know surplus ammo,

im interrested to know their estimates about how much 7.62x39 ammo is left that we are able to import....it seems like every year or so every says its dried up but then wham, everyone has it in stock again....

are there any other countires that have stockpiles of this ammo that we just arent allowed to import or they arent selling? why does it seem that the czech surplus is easiest to get?

how much longer do you think we will be able to import this stuff like we do now?

any info you have about surplus id like to hear, i enjoy reading about surplus ammo:p
 
glad to hear it, i sure hope we can keep importing it for years to come, i buy all i can now of course but still,

anyone got any pics of warehouses full of surplus?:p
 
^-^! real things is not come yet, if they can open the real Chinese military base gate, that will be a big WOW! tons of tons ammo in any kind, the strategy store for future use, since 1970 Chinese build huge military base under ground or storage base in hill, i was there, just one storage base can supply war for 30 years, they got military base in each province, 23 provinces, and plus secret area for super bomb base, can we get a super bomb? hehe!
 
Probably isnt a bad idea to hoard at cheaper prices... the dealers will try every trick they know to get top dollar. Its just the way it is in retail.
Buy low sell high has not died in any business, including the ammo side.;)

That was the idea three years back. Bulk buying and buddy who owns a truck for long haul trucking across Canada. Over a hundred cases at about the $110 range, now selling for over two hundred.


This ammunition is still being made for military use, and as long as AKs, and CZs are still in operation, it will continue to be used and manufactured. Another note to this, There is a tremendous amount of new commercial ammunition also being produced. With the amount of SKS and CZ858 rifles owned on this continent, there will always be a source to feed them.


Prices may change, but what prices don't? Gasoline has gone up 500% in the last 25 years, and everyone still seems to be driving. With the amount of hungry rifles, someone will always be making dinner.

Even back then, we knew it was all limited. The major players in the world, were mostly hoarding large stocks for their own use, in the colonies.

Turkey, bought up boat loads, as did South Africa, India, Malaysia etc.

Then of course, they were dumping it in the ocean by the boat load as well.

The cheap ammo went on from the mid fifties to the mid seventies. Then it all just seemed to dry up.

When Century International was forced to leave Canada, the cheap last of the cheap ammunition, went with them.

The US, still sees large quantities of surplus ammunition and firearms entering their country.

Some of the importers here in Canada, will sell off their shipments in the US, Even at half the price they get for it here, they at least get a quick turn around on their investments.

They mostly only sell in Canada as a favor to Canadians. They do make a profit on it, a very good profit but we just can't buy the volume necessary to keep up with the quantities they need to purchase when qualifying for the bidding or disposal lots.

The lots are offered in certain quantities, if I recall, they have to buy the whole lot, not just a portion, unless they have someone to go in on it with them ahead of time.

Much more to this than meets the eye.

Let's not forget NRCAN. They have some almost impossible hurdles to overcome when importing perfectly safe ammunition.
 
It doesn't help when countries like Albania send millions of rounds into furnaces either, along with crates of SKS's

- Clark, buddy, we need you to re-set your enthusiasm down a few notches, okay? You're scaring the Feds.

- Besides, by the time the PLA feels the need to release their war stocks of 7.62 x 39, their economy will be going so well that we won't be able to afford it!

- Considering the subject cartridge is the most popular tool for resolving third world governance issues (having largely replaced the spear, bow, and machete), I would say it will remain an affordable commodity for years to come - outside of Canada, anyway.
