I just picked up a franklin rotary tumbler. What amount and time are people using for 9mm. I found the instructions a little vague an stated time depends on caliber and amount. Do you jut fill the the unit to 3/4 or has anyone found specific numbers. I will be doing 9mm, 40 44 mag , 45 acp. I will also be doing 223 , 308 .
What recipies are people using I picked up some dawn and limi shine.

I run 1000 9mm or 1000 40
1 teaspoon Dawn Dish soap
2 teaspoon Lemi Shine
1 bag of stainless pins
Cover everything with warm water about 1.5 inches above the brass.
Turn timer on for 2 hours and if really dirty I add 1 extra teaspoon of Dawn and 1/2 hour more on the timer.

When done rinse with lots of clear clean water.
Put in brass Dryer for 20 minutes. Or how ever you want to dry them.

Stated capacity is 30lbs, I fill it with about 1200 or so 9mm and then add water and weigh and then keep topping up with cases until I hit 30lbs.

As mentioned already, 1/2 full.
I tumble for a little over an hour.
People on the forums here mention having to tumble for 2-3 hours. I'm guessing that they have it 3/4 full or more.
I had a franklin and moved to the red thumblers tumbler. Either way, running the motor for hours at the top of it's weight probably isn't ideal for long term usability.
