How much do you pay for the Hornady,208Grain, A-Max?

Wow! Can you believe I got them for 32.00/box!?

I asked if they made a mistake, and they assured me that they didnt.
So I bought all 6 boxes they had in the store.

Thats some cheap shooting!
But how can they sell them for that?
My guess is that they will find there was a mistake in the pricing.

O'well, I brought it to thier attention before I paid for them.

not too bad.
had a bit of trouble with consistancy past 1500yards.

I would like to get them to fly as straight as my 210Bergers.
At 1500, the A-Max's seemed to have More drop than the 210's. According to the advertised B.C.'s the Hornady is supposed to be flatter. Hmmmmm.

Again the manufactures give out a B.C. a tad to high to support the "HYPE".

I guess I will have to tinker with the load a bit, and try to keep them stable past 1500.
I hope!!!

What are you getting for speed? I have been consistant around 3000fps. Not that I have shot past 1500m since the shoot in Peace River, or for that matter even had the savage out since...

The Bergers look so much more slippery, I am not overly surprised that the AMAX's drop a bit quicker.

I was kinda hoping to kill something with my 208 amax load this year but work doesn't seem to want me to. :(

I think my MV is about 2925fps ish. my memory isnt to great! LOL!
Its in my records, but I'm too lazy to get them right now.
At 100-about 8-900yds, the 208's seem to hit the same as the 210's. but I think thats were the 210's leave the 208's behind.

The last group was about .385 I think. both the 210& 208's seem to shoot close to the same at 100. (point of impact and group size).

Sure had a good time at the shoot!
I look forward to shooting my BA there again next year.

I may try to boost my speeds up to around 3050 or so. It might get the 208's flying straighter past 1500. I HOPE !!! LOL!

I need to do some real testing with my load, I never really got it to perform to my satisfaction at 100 and 200yrds, however I think some of it was shooter error. That being said I was extremely happy with the results at the mile, it really felt like I was getting consistant, repeatable hits acording to my point of aim.

Funny thing is my point of aim was almost the same as my proven 190grn SMK load at 3150fps for the mile. And a 500 count box of 190 SMKs is comparable to the 208 amax price.... What to do.... lol

You may have to make it to more than one shoot, I am planning to do peace river again and hopefully DMay has one too. Should be a great year for fun shoots! :)
