Hey guys.

Have been poking around, looking here and there... and it amazes me how hard it is to find a barrel... even in Canada! I've had price ranges from 300-450 for a garand barrel. There's still gotta be USGI surplus around because for those prices I could almost buy a shooter grade Garand. I'm looking for both USGI or New barrels... any ideas?

I picked up a match grade 30-06 Garand barrel (needed final chamber reaming) for 96 CAN dollars tax in from a surplus store last year. Deals are to be had if you look around! Built that on a Breda reciever and can not wait to give it a go this spring.

What you do is, drive down to knob creek shoot in the spring and look around. 5 or 6 people down there will have USGI surplus barrels in various shape. I found one like new for 80$ US. :dancingbanana:

Knob Creek is a humongous machine gun shoot extravaganza in Kentucky. I've never been, I believe it's a twice yearly event. They clean up the brass with a bobcat.....

The shoot runs spring and fall, known there as Mud or Dust. Happiness is a mini-gun glowing after ripping off a 3000 round burst. Well, more of a 45 second hose fest then a burst, but you get the point. Ecstasy is renting a MG 42 and beating the hell out of an old water heater on the lower range. :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana: Great people and more FA then you ever imagined. :D

Do a web search on machine gun shoot and it will pop right up
