Curious of the answers out there.

Just received my Rifle Basix for my Savage 10TR receiver (only original thing left out of a 10TR), and am playing around with weight settings.
I set it so i feel like it's the ideal weight without using a trigger scale, once all was set and done, i took my trigger scale to check results.
It's set at 1.6lbs, safety functional, does not engage if i drop buttstock on the floor.
I may keep it that way but i have a mental blockage running something under 2lbs.

What is your setup?

Rifle and caliber :
Factory or aftermarket trigger :
Type of shooting or competition :

I have no way of measuring mine, but I have got my 10/22 done, CZ 452, Browning A-bolt. My Stealth I have not changed out yet, it's actually pretty good, never even touched the adjustment. For me how crisp the break is, lack of take up, and my 10/22 has an over travel stop that is nice. I guess I could have asked the gunsmith what each of them was, or borrowed a scale. My Browning, if I lower the trigger weight is absolutely insane. First two shots out of it were by accident when I first got it back, it was adjusted on the lightest weight, tightened it back up about half way and now its much better.

Take some meds for your mental blockage... triggers are what you shoot and get used to... I shoot a 2 pound trigger on my hunting rifle... some guys require 4 pounds... target rifles - anywhere from a couple of ounces on up...

Rifle and caliber : Savage/Stevens repeater action, custom 308win Fclass
Factory or aftermarket trigger : Sharp Shooter Supply set at ~14oz-16oz
Type of shooting or competition : fclass

Custom Panda Fclass, 308win
2 Triggers: Jewell BR 4oz (I may increase pull weight to 6-10oz depending on feel, break and control) & Jewell HVR 14oz-16oz

Once you get use to it the lighter pull weight it becomes second nature.

Cool good info thanks
I’m not out of norm

I have competed for 6 years in IPSC @ 15K rounds a year.
All my 1911s we’re specifically set to 2 1/4lbs, so light triggers aren’t new to me

Just thought i had maybe gone too light
I took out of chassis and readjusted to 1.9lbs
And 20/25 dry fire clicks i really like the feel

To be honest the build revolves around PRS, so i didn’t want to go to light as i see PRS as the IPSC of long range, the heart will be pumping.
Got elbow problems so 2018 will be shot from a bench, so i guess light doesn’t matter as much

The trigger of PRS right now is the TT Diamond. Its adjustment range is from 4oz to 32 oz. I would hazard a guess most guys are not running them at 32oz.

Jewell Triggers were very popular for a long time in PRS and I would think they were running less than a pound as well.

Barnard, 350grms(about 12oz) to meet DCRA TR rules. Going to bump it up to meet bisley rules soon, and I believe they are requiring 1.5lbs.

Interesting to know, i didn't figure guys we're going light for action shooting.
I got a PRS-esque build, except for the action brand, and the action limited my trigger choice and went with rifle basix.
I still got nice adjustability with it, and with tests to come, if i can hold 1/3moa or better, the build should work as it's in an MDT ESS chassis (for ergonomics)

Set all my guns up the same at 1.5 lbs. However I do have one 300 RUM set up at 8oz. Mostly run jewels and have one Trigger Tech. These are all hunting guns.

I can see 1.5lbs being a good spot.
Dry fired another 50-60 shots today, the biggest adjustment is going single stage, as my accutrigger felt like a 2 stage.

Almost feel like drilling under trigger guard so i can reach trigger weight allen screw without taking out of chassis.
Won't do it but it's tempting.

Once you get it set you will be golden. Drilling it may not be a bad idea depending on where exactly it is and how much material is left. I thought I would hate my Accutrigger, but I like it. I may lighten it up as I presume Savage has it set in the middle somewhere, but at least it's crisp and not creepy. I will wait till after I get the Stealth Cerekoted, before I mess with it as my form and skill is holding me back more than this trigger.

As a newb to precision rifles I have the trigger on my 10TR around 2.5 lbs. In time I'm sure I'll and up taking it a bit lower. I love that my Cadex chassis has a through hole for the trigger adjustment screw. How do you like the new trigger vs the accutrigger?

I will be straight out honest here.
The accutrigger was good, but a bit heavy to my liking (was 2 3/4lbs at lightest). I wanted 2 1/4lbs, which is what 1911 is set, 10/22 is set, shotgun is set and so on...
So when i polished the trigger notch where sear sits, i got it lower, but would now ''drop the hammer'' so to speak when i banged the buttstock on the floor, so out the garbage my accutrigger went.
Only polishing with 1000 grit sandpaper did that to it, nothing major in material removal, so if tuning accutrigger go springs only.

Rifle basix is inexpensive and does the job quite nice. At lowest setting it was sub 1lb so i cranked it up a bit to 1.8/1.9lbs. I am sure it can go to at least 2.5lbs.
Dry firing with it today, i am now thinking, that the rifle will be a tad easier to get good groups with now with a tuned trigger.
10TR was doing a few 0.5moa/5 shot groups with accutrigger. I general i was 0.6/0.7moa, and always 5 shot groups i do don't 3 shot groups.

Got new barrel in 0 rounds shot, and changed trigger at same time as barrel. So i won't know how much is attributable to trigger and how much to barrel, but i guess barrel will play the largest part

There would be plenty material left, but will refrain due to resale value.
This gun a wish to keep, but we never know, sometimes we sell things we intended to keep a few months earlier

My main hunting rifle is an older 700 with a factory trigger worked down to 2.5 pounds. I would have liked it to be around 2 lbs but that's about all I could get out of the factory trigger.
My custom target rifle in 308 has a Jewell in it and its set for a 1 lb break. I think I might take it lower as its a dedicated target rifle.
My semi-custom 700 .223 still has the factory XMP trigger in it and its around 3.5 pounds. This trigger will be replaced, likely with a Timney or Trigger tech to be adjusted to approximately 1 lb.
My semi custom hunting rig has a Trigger tech set for 2 lb.

Moral of my story is for hunting purposes, 2-2.5 lbs. For target purposes 1lb or less.
