So I mixed bourbon scotch and tequila the other night and I ordered a 8-32x50 cheap scope. It's for a rimfire. I'm sure I over paid at $105 but it's a 30 mm tube with flip up covers and a 3" sun shade. I've used the companies fixed powered scopes without incident
I'm not expecting much so I am hoping to be surprised

So how much has everyone spent on low quality Chinese crap?

I bought a Tasco 3-9 x 32 for $55, and a used one for $30. These are cheap enough for me, and have not had any problems with them.

eBay "bushnell" just showed up today, I ordered it after a few too many one night a few weeks ago, I am actually quite surprised at the glass for a $50 6-24.
I put it on one of my 308s and I will see if I can get it zeroed tomorrow.

As for someone like myself that has never had a 'good' scope, I am sure I would be more than happy with what you just got. One day I would like to try out a 'good' scope to see if I notice a difference. Looking forward to seeing a review.

I have one of the 10-40x50mm Chinese scopes on one of my target CZ .22's.(branded "ZOS")
So far it has held up and does not get too dark if you keep the power down to 30x.
I don't play around with the turrets much as I just shoot this gun at 50m so I have not much idea about its repeatability.
It has held zero so far after 5-600 rounds.
Eye relief is kind of critical though.

No need to live in 90's. Chinese CAN make as good if not better than anyone else. Only question is did you buy garbage or good. At that price, well...

My cheapest scope was a Bushnell banner (Korean) for about $100. It is perfectly serviceable and MORE than enough for the 10/22 it is on. 8-32x50 is ... aggressive for what is undoubtedly poor glass. That is the limiting factor and it really begins and ends there. 30mm tube and sunshade mean very little as they are nice to haves when what matters most is already present. Also at that mag level and price point, your adjustment knobs are going to disappoint. Might have been serviceable at lower magnification but this feel overly ambitious IMHO.

Can't wait to hear a follow up on what you think about your purchase.

I'll test it out. I was thinking the 10-40x50. It had the blue reticle. Yes that's how buzzed I was lol. Should not have been on my phone. At least I didn't buy another truck.
I've come to really like the Bushnell legend ultra hd and elite lines so ill eventually switch everything over

Well it came in the mail this morning. I'm actually quite impressed with the finish. It's quite clear and bright. Not as good as my Bushnell legend ultra hd scope or my elites but equal to or better than the banner scopes I've had. It's clearer and sharper than my barska 6-24x42

The eye relief is critical at above 26 power holding it over the couch. My rings haven't come in yet. I got impatient and guessed at which height
The main issue is the sunshade I ordered doesn't fit. It looks like it would fit the threads on the scope but the adjustable objective lens stops it
It was a $15 part. It's likely more to send it back as returns must be sent registered mail

Between 8-22 power its still crisp the edges start blurring around 24-26. However I was looking thru a front Window.
Once the rings show up ill strap this thing onto either my 22 or my 17 and give it a good testing
The 11 setting center cross with hash marks on the lower vertical are very nice. Goes from 1 hardly tell it's lit to 11 which is super bright in daylight.
For the $105 it cost I'm satisfied
I've had the brands fixed 4 power on my slug gun and 458 wm and it held up where 3 vortex scopes failed so take that as you will. This scope will only be used on rimfire guns. I ordered the .35" height Weaver rings as the next height was .55"

I bought a Center Point 3-9 x 50 a couple of month's ago from Princess Auto for $79.99, rings included. I mounted it on my 303 British. Sighted it in with 6 shots. I'll know soon enough if it's still holding zero if I see a buck in the next couple of weeks.

Got lucky once in the scratch and dent 15.00$ box at a gun show and found a good one ( with just one ring on it) it must have got dropped in there by mistake ! Its still going strong , have it on a old 22 bolt action for when I feel the need stroke a bolt . Never did find another ring that looked the same !

I traded a 15 pack of Wobbly pops to a buddy for a bnib tasco 2.5-10x44 target and varmint. He had won it and doesn't like variable power scopes so was happy to trade. I have it on my savage bmag 17 wsm and am actually quite happy with it. The glass is decent and clear and I did the box test 3" up,3 shots 3" right,3 shots and so on to test the turrets and it was right on the money. He drinks Busch so didn't even have to pay for premium beer. Lol.

i m pretty sure you can find not expensive scope that are not cheaply made ...

Yeah, but you can also pay a lot more money for the same Chinese cheap scope with a different sticker on it. If buying used oats, it is best to only pay the used oats price.

On the other hand, I got a Leupold Vx111 3.5-10 x 50mm, for $150 off the rack at a sporting goods store that had a bin full of $15-$30 used scopes that they were clearing out to make room. I bought several of the cheap ones too. Always good to have a spare or two around for when needed!
