As the title says, I have a stock Ruger 10/22 like this

And I'd like to change the look with a laminate stock and bull barrel.
What sort of cost am I looking at and is it something that a person can do themselves at home?
Any suggestions on where to buy these items and do I need anything else for the swap?
Thanks

Easy work, price depends on what you want. A Boyds stock will run you about $150 US after shipping (so $1000 CAD) The cheapest bull barrels are Green Mountain from Bits of Pieces (google them) and Dlask are pretty affordable too. You won't get your money out of it when you sell it and its cheaper to buy a DAR22 built how you want so keep that in mind. As for the work, a flathead screwdriver removes the barrel band and takedown screw. Then dry fire it and the safety will stay centered so you can lift the action out. 2 Allen head bolts hold the v-block in. Remove them and the v-block then the barrel should slide out. Twisting it helps but marks up the bore in the reciever. New barrels will be a tight fit. Sandpaper or emery cloth will get the tenon fitting snug. You want a good tight fit but the tighter it is the harder it is to remove if you decide to change it.

Just read Super Nova's post and you'll figure it put... for a stock and barrel there is no need to go to RFC and "do some reading." Google "Boyd's gunstocks" and take your pick of stocks, be sure to go through the "custom options"... then Google "Dlask Arms" and choose your barrel... done.
