What is a good power scope for out to 300 yards for coyote and deer? I currently have a Elite 3x9-40 on my 25-06 and although I've made 300 yard shots with that scope, it's not enough especially for coyotes. I want more power but not too much for possible close shots. I was thinking along the lines of 4.5-14x40 or 5-15x40 or 6-18x40 or more??? Any preferences from coyote/deer hunters? Also I was thinking either another Elite or a Nikon any experience with Nikons?? The last 2 years my deer have been shot at 15 feet (self defense) and 15 yards with open sights. I never owned a scope until this year, any suggestions appreciated.
