Hello all laugh if you will but im trying to get brass cleaned while my right wirst is messed up, I wanted to know how much untreated walnut media, I got a deal on 12 lbs of it, do I put in my tumbler, I also have some metal Polish to add to it, I was thinking of 100 308 cases and fill the bowl to 2/3 full and have say half a shot glass full of the Polish and Polish for 4 hours or do an over night, what do you all think? Im not looking for a high shine, just clean and good to go, if I have to id clean em in a pail of water and some cleaner of sorts then use my dehydrator
The Polish I have is
Club supreme metal Polish cleaner

Sounds about right. I let mine run overnight. To keep the dust down & keep your media cleaner, longer, try tossing 1/4 of a dryer sheet in your tumbler.

Perfect, thanks, i was just watching a video on that LOL, i have a around 250 brass, just 308 Win tho, i need to do, two loads, so its 2/3 full? of the media

enough media to fully cover the brass with wiggle room.
Clean enough would be 45-1hour.
all you Need to do, is remove excessive carbon build up and loose particles. Beyond that, its all vanity.

i do alot of bulk 9mm cases (usually 1000+)
3+ ripped up Used dryer sheets, and a tea spoon sized squirt of automotive polish.
i'll tumble for 4 hours.

i'll use a bunch of dryer sheets and tumble with no brass to catch up on the dust removal as well.

My mother has some medical paper cloths, blue and I use them to scrub my rifle parts while cleaning, I have one draped over the top under the screw, I think im going to get a couple wing nuts, easier than the rubber screws lol, ive had the brass in for near an hour, im going to check them now and see, im curious to see if they cleaned up, one case was almost purple in color with tarnish

Put your brass in the bowl add media and turn on

if brass/ media just sits in one place and vibrates add more media

brass/ media should tumble rotate to clean

Its swimming and im letting them go for another 2 hours, the two purplish black cases are lighter but still dark, what could cause that on federal 308 win cases, and ideas?

OK gang, first batch done, it is not shiney but I dont care, im wondering should I wash them in warm soapy water and then dry in thr oven or just leave em, they have a small bitnof dust but not much, thinking of using a old towel to rub em with
