How much rimfire do you shoot a year?

I’m sure this has been posted before but I can’t seam to find one.

After ordering a couple cases of 22lr to keep up with my shooting habit.
Got me thinking. How much dose everyone really shoot in a year?

I usialy empty a few mags on the back Porch every day. I have steel plates out to 150yrds
Life changed and I have been shooting a lot more this past year which is awesome.

I use to shoot 2000-3000 rounds a year.
Between plinking, hunting and gopher blasting

Since Christmas I am probably shooting 2-300 rounds a week.
Definitely seeing my stock pile go down.


How much rimfire do you shoot in a year.
What kind of shooting practices do you do?
 
Rimfire is my go to for range time. I usually shoot around 500 rounds of mixed 22lr and 17hmr easily in a trip. It adds up fast if you shoot often.
 
I'm easily 16000-20000 rounds though my pistols and shooting gophers from may-Sept. Then another 2500-3000 centre x or standard plus through my prs rifle. Usually buying the plinking ammo when I see sales between 9-11 cents per round at my door.
 
A good gopher year is 5 bricks of 17 HMR, 10 bricks 22, plus 5000 rounds of varmint center fire, off of my portable field shooting bench
 
rimfire

I shoot rimfire exclusively ( .17 , .22 , .25 , .32 ) most
from the bench so we collect our shells.
A good season is 3 ltrs.

Last year I shot just over 16k rounds of 22lr, 3500 of 9mm, and 2200 rounds of 223 give or take. I dont keep track of corrosive 7.62x39 or 7.62x54r. The 223 are all handloads but the rest are store bought. I'm close to my range and work shift, so I get out quite a bit. Most of the 22lr ammo was CCI standards and mini mags with some Eley club in the mix. I have started shooting the higher end stuff this year as my 22 bench gun is finally together. I wouldn't want to send that many rounds of Lapua Midas or Eley Match down the tube as I think I would be homeless. I have a feeling the numbers will be down quite a bit this year as all ammo has increased in price and availability seems down.
 
I shoot indoor range once per week at 60 plus rds thru the winter.Target rifle 3 position.So around 2400 plus a year.
All shots are precisely aimed rds from Anschutz rifles.
No semi auto spray and pray.

Trying to shoot 5000/year but realistically it's less. Supplemented with a lot of air rifle lately though which has definitely improved my offhand.

I like to offhand and change up positions with rimfire.
Has definitely made me a much better hunting shot inside 150.

I use to look for a rest for anything past 50yrds.

All my "serious" shooting is offhand or PRS type positions. Bench is just for tuning, it holds little interest otherwise.
 
Last spring my brother and I shot approximately 1 Glen retreiver hight worth of 22lr gopher shooting. We still have about 10 boxes left and ordered another 4 cases for this year. Hopefully the shooting this year will be as good as last year!
