How much should I expect to pay?

I may be able to get a hold on a nice tall display case n the possible near future, and have a pretty sweet idea for a Canadian Militaria display. The whole thing would center around three Canadian made rifles standing in the center.

The three I was thinking of was the Ross Rifle, A Canadian marked No.1 Enfield, and of coarse a Long Branch No.4.

I already have the No.4, so i am going to need the ross and the No.1.

For the Ross, While a 100% matching example would be best, I am pretty sure that is near impossible to find. So I was thinking it would have to be at least in Full dress with a "good" bore with No pitting, rust and still plenty of rifling, not mint, but not a sewer pipe.

The No.1 would ideally have matching wood and bolt, with a "very good" bore.

So, What am I looking to pay?

I would also like a Bayo to match if I can find them.

Thanks.

Military configuration Ross rifles seem to be just north of 1k from what I have seen recently. There was a really, really nice one at the Pickering gun show recently, I believe it was priced at 1200 (?).

I have seen and fired only one Canadian marked No1Mk3 (owned by a fellow CGNer who may be along shortly). From what Ive seen they are in and around the 500-700 mark.

I am going off memory here so I may be off.

well...I happen to have Canadian marked No1 - bolt not matching, but she has the C-brad arrow cartouche on the receiver and wood. $500+ must be for an all matching gal. The one I have would probably fetch $375 shipped and delivered. The Stock disk is also a T.S.R. marked one. The bore looks dark but nicely rifled. I just havent had a chance to shoot her (damned snow) so I dont know how she groups.

The one I know of is all original matched. Have any pictures Fishdoc? :D they sure are nice rifles with lots of history.

375 is a pretty decent price, even for a mismatched piece. You willing to maybe sell that No.1 in a few months lol?

As for the ross, I might have better luck finding a sported one and restore it with a stock made by me. Ill give a friend of my dads a call, he has a few sporter ross's and ill see if he has any in full barrel.

Guys, let me see if this baby shoots first. It hasnt been shot in 60 years (I'm not kidding on this one - got it with a LB 1944 that had been in "storage" for 60 years. They were lacking some parts (safety on the MkIII and the ejector screw on the LB) which have now been fixed (Thanks Lou!)
If she's a shooter I will put her up on the EE. I already have my 1916 No1 never-sell shooter!
