How much $ to offer for a CVA Optima?

My friend may be selling his CVA Optima .50 cal. Its about 10 years old and looks a lot like the image below that I snagged from Google, except that the gun has no scope. I've shot the gun, its in good shape ("usual handling marks") and the bore is bright. He will probably want next to nothing for the gun, but he's an old friend and deserves what its worth. What's a fair price?

Mine new was $399 plus tax, but has stainless metal.... I would say $200 is right about in the ballpark for a used blued model....

$200 is fair. I paid $329 brand new for a stainless CVA optima 2 years ago.
