I have got to the point where I am considering to parkerize some guns. Before I dedicate myself to this what do you think ill be dropping to start this? I realize stainless steel is pricy so it worries me. I usually get rid of guns due to ####ty finishes and think it could come in handy.

No sand blasting stuff either right now...

All you really need is a big pot, or anything metal that is long enough to fit whatever you are parking, a heat source, the parking components, distilled water, a meat thermometer, some steel wool and that's about it. It isn't rocket science, although it can be fiddly. Word of advise, if you're married don't do it on the stove

You don't HAVE to.........but you should.

The Radocy(sp?) premixed stuff gives you a REALLY nice finish but you can make your own with phosphoric acid (hydroponics store), and either powdered zinc or powdered manganese (both available at pottery supply houses.
