How often do springs, pins, gas rings etc. rust or break on an AR?

I was just wondering, how often do springs, pins, gas rings etc. rust or break on an AR?

How often does your car break? How often does your fridge, or stove or toaster break?

If you are worried about it, keep some of the commonly broken spare parts around just in case. Bolt, extractor, assorted springs and pins, cam pin, etc, etc...

Gas rings change about every 5000rds

Bolts break more on the short barrel ARs "If you have a 20" I would not even worry"

I bought a kit with a whole slew of parts from Brownells, and had no trouble with shipping it over the border.

When I go to competitions I stuff a lower parts kit and a complete bolt and carrier in my pack. Just in case.
That said I have never needed either but have lent parts to keep others in the game.
