OK, your at the range ready to test some new load combinations you have come up with.........

Lets say you have 3 cartridges loaded for each of 10 or more different combinations to test. How often would you clean the bore? How would you clean the bore? and how many fouling shots do you fire before you continue your load testing?

(All assuming some sort of popular cartridge (.308, 30-06) in a factory rifle with factory barrel.)

I f I had 30 rounds, I wouldfn't clean it at all.

I'd start with a fouled barrel, and shoot them all.

Thats what I do now. Just trying to eliminate one more variable from a piss poor performance at the range............ and maybe learn something in the process.

I am in the same boat as Gatehouse and gth. Cleaning between loads only complicates load development.

I run a patch or two lubed with Kroil through the bore when I get back home and that is it. None of my rifles develop any serious metal fouling, and they all consistently shoot very accurately.
