How often do you clean your pistols/revolvers?

lol ya really, im surpised by some of this. I mean to not clean you gun tell it stops working properly just sounds wrong to me.

23 years shooting, been following my cleaning regimen (rather, the lack of) for most of those

My record for shooting a 1911 without cleaning is 700 rounds, firing (not cleaning) took about three hours. At some point, it did get a squirt of lube in the right places.

Nothing beats a 1911 or even a Glock with beaten worn metal with the bluing coming off. 1911's with residue all over the front of the slide is just stunning.

Filthy is beautiful. Just like ###, my guns need to be dirty. Did I just say that?

I wonder if a thread on our filthiest guns would appeal to CGNners.

I dunno anything i ever seen or was taught, told me to clean my guns after every use to keep them working properly and prevent corrosion. Ill probally still keep them clean, dont like leaving them sitting around dirty.

I was going to say that I like my guns just like my women, filthy. But I figured that might be a bit TMI, so I left it out.

I like the filthy gun thread idea, too.

400 rounds on average for me, but it depends to the time between matches or sessions.

i'll even clean it after less than 100 rounds depending on how long i know it will sit
