How things looking for Sask this fall

The deer numbers are through the roof In my area. I haven’t seen this many WT around since the mid 2000’s. Mule deer are down slightly from last year but we still have too many of them. There are a lot of partridge and sharp tails this year as well. The antelope have gone south for the winter, but the population that was here this year was very high. In one day I saw 8 different bucks that would all make the book, anyone with a tag this year had a very good opportunity to shoot a monster.

Pulled all my cams yesterday and not a single pic of a mature buck. Doesn't mean they aren't out there as the cams obviously miss a lot but it isn't looking good in my area. Antler growth on the up and comers that made it isn't what it should be. The crazy winter has to have taken a toll on them. It's still early and it wouldn't surprise me if some older bucks do show up but I'm also not very optimistic.

I hope I'm wrong, but numbers seem to be down in my stomping grounds compared to previous years. Usually by now I'll have groups somewhat bracketed from the comfort of my kitchen window or perched up on the roof, in the sense of when and where they're out and about. The trespass laws and snow should throw a wrench into truck hunting around here though, so less deer and I assume less pressure.

So I end up skipping another season. Work load, family, and all my hunting Bros have passed away. ( Hunting alone sucks). But FFS don't I see a nice mulie buck chasing a doe on the drive home today. Of well " That's the way she goes" lol...

BTW: Did anyone here anything about the hunters around Canwood that had their vehicle shot up and robbed while they were out hunting.
True story or no ?
