How to adgust Redfield peep sight for Remington Woodsmaster Model 81?

Hey guys,

Always wanted a Model 81 in .300 Savage. and my brother in law (also on here) says he'll sell me this one. It's D&T for a scope, but I would prefer to get the irons dialed in.

Any tips for using one of these peep sights? It doesn't have micro click, as far as I can tell. How much will my adjustments change when I re-tighten the screws after moving it? Also, is there a particular order (windage vs. elevation) it's best to adust, and which screw does which?

Hmmmm,...I have the same peep on the same rifle,...but I have never adjusted it, as I only used it with a RedDot,....However,..I was just looking it over and if I were going to adjust the elevation I would slack the big screw and adjust the small set screw in or out,...but I don't see the small set/adjustment screw in your picture,...the small screw is on the right side of my peep,...does yours have one?
As for windage,...I would slack both top screws, slide left or right as needed and retighten screws as follows,..if the sight was slid to the right, you would snug,(not tighten), the right screw, then snug the left screw and then tight both a little at a time until both are equally tight.
Not sure if this will help you or not,..but this is how I would go about adjusting it.
