can you bore sight an sks without a scope? I m wandering if you can zero the iron sights of the rifle by looking through the barrel at a dot and the adjusting the sight to the same dot. if yes then at what distance?

Just take a sheet of paper (8x11)then put a strip of green paint tape vertically In the middle on the entire length of the sheet. Then put your target at 25 yard and aim for the line. You should be able to see if you have to adjust the windage of your front post.

You can with a dental type mirror that you can pick up at a hardware store for a couple of bucks
Put the gun in a rest and aim at 25 meters and you'll get the shot on paper then make your front sight adjustments from there.

I bore sighted my Weaver 1 x 3 scope on my SKS, but I had to pull the bolt, blot carrier, spring, and spring cover. Once I did this, as long as the cover retaining pin was pulled all the way out, I could sight down the barrel at the target -- worked great!
