Has anyone fully disassembled a Lakefield Mk 1 bolt before?

I'm a little mystified by this one, is the shaft that the hammer rides on press fit? Is there a way to removed the split ring retainer from the shaft while the hammer body is in the way?

Thanks for the help!

If it's the same as a Cooey bolt, the knob on the side has a pin attached to it and it pulls out to split the bolt. There will be a little hollow nut in between both pieces of the bolt that threads out. It is in the firing pin side. The spring and rod come out. The firing pin is held in by another tiny cross pin at the end.

Correct me if I'm wrong, not real familiar with MK1 bolts.

I'll try find pics.

No luck on the retaining nut unfortunately. The area is flat as a pancake.

This particular model doesn't have the auto cocking feature like on most bolt action 22's, you have to manually pull the rear of the bolt back with the cocking piece before it will fire. It's a nice safety feature on a kids 22.

I'm starting to wonder if it's a press fit, with the roll pin there as a secondary measure?

Oh well, for now it will work okay. When it misfires I may just have to re-#### and fire again.

Knock the roll pin out.

My nickel says the 'split ring' is actually the end of the spring. Put a chunk of whatever under the cocking knob and screw it in to preload the spring to give you the slack you need to work with. Then drive out the roll pin, the guide pin and spring will come out the back of the bolt.
