I've just purchased a 870 Express from another great member here - love the gun. I myself am new to shot guns (and I mean new!) and its a steep learning curve to say the least.
I would like to change the factory stock but am unsure how to remove it (and then install the new one - which I have not purchase yet).

any help would be much appreciated - and a web site with pics - is that too much to ask for!

thanks for any help

Remove butt plate, unscrew the bolt found inside, butt will fall off.

The bolt inside may be tight, so use the right screw driver so you don't strip it.

1) Remove 2 srews part #47b. (usually a #2 phillips head scewdriver)
2) Look inside end of buttstock.
3) Remove bolt part #60, lock washer part#61 and washer part #62.
4) Remove the stock (Note: the stock bearing plate part #59 is used on wood stocks, it is not needed for sythetic stocks. keep it in a safe place in case you want to put a wood stock back on.)

To install new one, repeat steps 1-3 in reverse

thanks guys, and great diagram to identify the parts

I guess it is similar to the fixed A2 AR stocks - which I have changed.

thanks again!
