HOw to clean Browning BL-22?

Hi CGNers

I've been told that cleaning a gun from the muzzle can damage accuracy.

On the other hand I don't want to take down the action.

I tried a bore snake but the brass weight attached to the string is too big

to fit into the ejection port.

Any suggestions? how do you guys clean your BL-22?

Take a piece of whipper snipper line,heat up one end,flatten it out then put a patch on it and pull it through slowly.

Hi Mike have a 22 snake... the brass weight in the end is too long to fit into the ejection port so it can not be fed into the chamber. (which brand do you use? I have a hoppes snake)

Is it true that whipper snipper line has abrasives imbedded in it to make it cut better?

whipper snipper = Weed Eater Line

if that piece of brass won't fit through the ejection port, maybe you could trim it a bit.

Personally, I don't mind taking the gun down. It's a 30 seconds job, and it makes it easier to scrub the bolt face and lube everything else.
