how to clean the action of a Henry .22 lever rifle

The manual says not to take it apart, at all. So far I just clean the bore, and have occasionally sprayed the action with Rem Action Cleaner, but I assume eventually the action will need a proper cleaning. Any suggestions? Should I figure out how to take it apart, take to a gunsmith every so often, or just not worry about it?

I completely stripped my Henry and it is pretty easy. But if you don't feel comfortable doing it, take it to a gunsmith once a year for a good cleaning.
