How to date a late Tula?

How can you tell what year a Reciever maked Tula is? Does the letter after the ser # mean anything?

Basically the letter code replaced the dated top cover. Though some dated side rail stars do exist. The earliest full laminate un-issued I've seen is a "D". curtton's hardwood example is an "I" .The letter "K" is reported to be the last of the Tulas.

so according to the cryllic table , mine is one cryllic away from the "K".
