Me i need to make room in my safe but i am not going to blow my stuff out the door as far as i am concerd it can sit there and rust to nothing in a snow bank before i let it go foe less than half what i paid your thoughts please

Patience.
For a lot of people $850 is still a large purchase but if the package is worth $1500 someone who's horny for a mini 14 will come along......
Pictures help.....photobucket is pretty easy and there are some tutorials around here somewhere.

Sometimes it's just the demand of the product you are selling. If no one is looking for a mini 14 right now, then it doesn't matter how cheap it is because no one will buy it. If someone really wants one then they will jump on the offer, even if it is high. A rifle is only worth as much as someone will spend on it.
Your situation isn't improving with every second post in the "worst rifle you've ever had" thread talking about mini 14's and 30's

One must be mindful of the time of year we are in. Right after Christmas many potential buyers are looking at large credit card bills and chequing accounts with very little money left in them. Try again around April or May and you may find more people willing and able to make you a reasonable offer.

OK read your post,

Ruger mini 14 target satinless lam
Wts sell mini 14 target stainless grey lam stock .223 1 year old it has a 5-15x40 bushnell legend on it only put enough rounds throught this rifle to site it in i just dont use it as i have a tikka t3 22-250 i like to use i am asking 850 for everything includeing scope firm shipping in origanl box the rifle is mint

Could be better. Satinless lam? :D

Hey you've got a nice rifle, Take a bit more time to describe what you are selling and post some nice pictures!
How does it shoot? The mini's have a bad rap but the newer ones were supposed to be way better..... was yours good?

Might be worth mentioning if you think it's a shooter or not.

"...can not even get $850 for it..." Mini Target retail prices have dropped. Epp's was selling them for a bit over a grand last year. $962.44 now. Mind you, P&D is still asking over a grand.
As mentioned, you should change your ad. It says you bought it and don't want it any more. I'd take the huge scope off, as well. It's not 'mint' either. Fix the spelling and grammar and re-post it closer to Spring.

+1. OP, also realize that you only have a trader rating of 1 and that will put off a lot of people, me included. I would never buy online from a seller with less than 3 or 4 positive ratings, preferably with some of them for sales.

I'm not saying that it is fair or right, but the fact is that a low TR is going to inhibit buyers. A lack of pictures is also a handicap, there are many on the forums who don't even slow down for an ad that doesn't have any pictures.

Grammar and spelling ARE important, whether you want to believe it or not. You are judged by how you present yourself; this is not text message communication and should not be treated as such. Try using punctuation, correct spelling and paragraphs and see if things change.

Hey Stinkynuts.....cool name.

I honestly don't believe spelling sells a gun. I really don't give a rats ass if you spell something wrong when I'm looking at a gun. As long as it isn't in a different language other than english I'm pretty sure I can figure out what your selling. What you need is pics to sell a gun, people wanna see what they're buying and some don't wanna bother p.m.ing for pics. This is a good thing as well cause it gets rid of the tire kickers.

Here's the tutorial on how to post pics on CGN. Good luck Stinkynuts.

Hey, you asked how to sell the damn thing. People are giving you GREAT advice so the least you could do is take it or at least consider the advice. Spelling and grammar is important so have your wife/girlfriend/mom write the ad for you so you don't keep looking some hack trying to pawn off a rifle that can't shoot.
If I was going to drop $850.00 on a Mini 14 and had a choice between YOUR ad and an ad with: -good grammar
-good pics
-description of how it functions and shoots
I'd likely buy off the second ad. But thats just me....

1/2"-3/4" groups at 200 yards????!!!!! With a mini 14???!!!!!
My Remington 700 VSSF II won't even do that with handloads!
You want to sell this fricking gun? A mini14 that does 3/4" at 200 yards?! Before tuning?
I'm calling B.S.

You don't need perfect spelling or grammar. However, it looks to me like you're texting your friends on your iPhone or Blackberry.

Capitals at the beginning of the sentence and a few paragraphs make things way easier to read. ;)

Also, to up your trader rating, you have to buy a few things before selling becomes easier.

My bet (and its already been mentioned) is there are many many people not ready to spend that kind of coin with someone who is trying to make their first sale. Sometimes its better to sell a few less costly items before trying to sell something at that price.

This is not to say that there are not people who will take the chance, but I believe it limits your buyers.

As for the grammar, well not everyone here has the same language skills( which is fine with me) and for many people, English may not be their spoken language, BUT, spell check works wonders and is easy to use, and I would recommend it.

Good Luck!

I can only speak from my experience and guess we all differ in that. Spelling/grammar does not influence me one way or the other, posting pictures doesn't either, as if I'm interested, I'll ask for pictures. But trader rating does. I would be hesitant about forwarding a grand to someone with little or no trader rating. As previously suggested, you can build your rating by buying first, even it's a lot of smaller items. May not be fair but this is how it works. Good luck with it.

Spelling isn't critically important, but it makes the ad easier to understand and read. Posting pictures helps a lot. Especially for web shoppers. Unless you're offering a three day inspection, people are going to shop by looking at the pictures so they better be good. As the saying goes, "a picture is worth a thousand words".

Put yourself in the buyer's shoes. If YOU didn't know what your Mini 14 is like, would YOU buy it from looking at your ad? Especially when compared to OTHER ads. Looking at yours, I wouldn't. Too sketchy and a lack of commitment. How well your ad works is how much commitment you are willing to put in. For me, it also tells me what kind of man you are. If you make the effort, then you're probably worth the effort to deal with.

Thirdly, you can always break up your package and sell the other parts to increase your trader rating AND increase the chance of a sale. How? I want an Mini 14 but I have a s**t load of scopes, why would I want another one? At the very least, open the option of parting. Of course, that is IF you can't sell it as a package. Sometimes, it can increase net profit when you part.

Finally, timing and patience. This should be self explanatory. I hope.

SHORT VERSION: Not knowing your gun, would you buy your gun from your ad?

PS. Delete some of your ads. You look like a spammer. Have one good one.

Again lots of good information and tips to when i say 3/4 in groups that is the closest possible marks on the target in a 3 shoot group just to be clear that is how i look at grouping on all my rifles
