How to Disassemble a Tavor Video: barrel, optics, hand-guard and added BCG

Solar: Well done! I might look into that. I like having one less springy pin step in my takedown for now, but it loosening starts to be a problem I'll replace it.

Cyberspace: Tavor Ambassador is something I'd love to have on my job description :p

There is of course the barrel wrench itself, which I think other people have bought from Canada Ammo in the past. They don't have them any more, but North Sylva might bring them in.

When I was first looking to remove the barrel I was very close several times to putting the rifle in a case and taking it in to home depot to find something that fit. But I thought better of it looking at the staff in the stores around me :p

The first time I unlocked the barrel I actually did it with a hex key. I bought one of those folding sets with 8 different sizes that fit tight enough in there that I could flip the lever. However something must have changed, because the next time I tried I rolled the edges of the hex key. I tried two others after that, and rolled them both so that they just end up popping out of place inside the barrel lock. That's what prompted me to grind down the bolt to fit properly. Much easier to get leverage on.

I've seen that John at the Calgary Shooting Center uses a similar system. He ground down the adapter to a ratchet to the same size and shape.
