How to disassemble AR-15 magazine?

Post this in the black rifles section and you'll probably get a better response.

(never mind, appers a kindly mod has done it for you.....)

I don't have a link, but its fairly easy to do. The typical AR magazine has a removeable floor plate. There will be a small hole on one end. Gently lift it up and slide it over the lip of the mag body. The spring will be under considerable tension even unloaded so watch yourself. When done, you will have the mag body, follower, spring and base. Reassemble in reverse order.

There's a hole in the floorplate at the end with some indentations and a tab, use a cartridge or needle nose pliers in the hole to pull the floorplate away from the magazine body, so the indentations will clear the magazine body, then pull it rearwards and off the magazine. Getting the follower and spring out may be dependent on how your mag was pinned. Mine have a rivet and I can just tilt the follower over it.
If you bend the floorplate a little during removal, just bend it back before reassembly.

just DON'T BREAK THE TABS ON THE MAG BODY- i've got one ar mag that this has happened to( they're really fragile- or it's like really old- it's a 20 round marked colt ar15) and i've had to epoxy the florplate in
