Hey all.

Got a new 10/22 with the Manlicher stock. Tried to remove the stock to lube it for the first time.

Removed the action screw infront of the mag. Took the barrel cap screw out too. But barrel/action will not drop out of the stock. Put safety in the middle. Videos online outline what I have done except the barrel cap as none cover the International model.

Wondering if the stock has taken in moisture and swelled up? Has a walnut stock to it.

Any thoughts?

Plan B is to use CLP and spray inside action.

i dont have one myself but from what i understand you need to take the barrel cap off and then once that is removed it should just come apart.
seems a few people have had tight ones and had to dowel and hammer them out.

so take down screw, safety in middle, end cap off - then just some brute force from what i can see.

let us know how it goes!

check these pics of barrel cap removal.

For ease of removal in the future, I took a dremmel to my end cap and opened up the inside of it just enough that the barrel/action can come out of the stock without taking it off every time.

Sort of the same note, does anyone know if a site sponsor has any in stock?

I Run Guns in Alberta* had some (that's where I got mine), Prophet River (Alberta as well) had a couple if I recall, and maybe Easthill Outdoors just north of Bowmanville Ontario. (Though I don't think they are a site sponsor but a good bunch of folks regardless)
