HOW TO drill T97 GAS PLUG

The T97 is over-gased so I know some folks here drilled a hole at the shut off position.
The plug is so hard I cannot even dimple it.
SO please, share your technic.

You can try welding the large hole shut (which no one ever uses anyway), then drilling a really small aperture.
Welded metal will be a lot softer than the parent material, so shouldn't be too hard to drill.
