How to find a holster.

New to the handgun thing. Have a walther p22 and cz75 sp01 tactical. Trying to find a suitable holster for each. How do you know if a certain holster is suitable for your gun without actually putting the gun in the holster?
 
Yup, what enefgee said. Any good holster will be designed for a specific handgun, and marked as such. Now you'll just have to decide what type you're interested in. Outside Waistband or Inside Waistband? Crossdraw, Appendix, Strongside, Small of Back? Leather, Nylon, Kydex? Some options to consider to muddy the waters.
 
Or are you looking for one holster that you could use for either gun? I use a Yaqui Slide for that. Mine fits large frames the best but works in a pinch to holster any hand gun I own. Like the other poster's said, manufacturer's will label their holsters to fit a certain gun or give a size reference that will fit a few different guns in the same holster.
