How to fit steel pro mag in SKS

I bought steel pro mags for my Chinese SKS but the magazine doesn’t fit the receiver. Since I can’t file steel is there a way to make it fit or did I waste my money?

You can get a file at the Dollarama and just go at the bill of the front hook for a minute. Anyone can file steel.

You may need to open up the wood around magwell to help it fit

Well I was able to file the plastic bit sticking out the back of the follower and now it fits.

Tool use is something every firearms owner eventually is forced to do. Just like we collect cleaning supplies and tools. I have pins, punches, hammers, some weird pliers for M14s, separated case tools, and a hockey puck as a bench block. Filing and sanding are smoothing techniques to remove burrs and edges on these little machines. Get started! BTW, files are a bit of any investment so keep the plastic and cardboard packaging so the little chisel edges don't get rounded off in your new tool box.
