Howdy guys,

I know this question has been asked a bijillion times over and over again, I've done a search and browsed a bunch of threads...no luck :(

Question is: How have people been getting their RPAL/PAL license number over the phone?

-According to the website, my license has been issued.
-Called CFC and the representative said that cards are printed on Thursday (Thats today)
-Mailing time is 14 days
-I was told "Due to privacy legislation i cannot give you the license number over the phone."

-The same thing happened yesterday when I called...They wouldn't give it to me.

Whats the deal? do I have to do something special? Do I have to call the CFO of Ontario directly? ...or did I just get the one buttsniffer at the CFC who decided to be mean to me?

Please help, I have a pistol thats paid for and we're just waiting on my RPAL# so the private seller can initiate the transfer.

What do you have to do?
Wait for your RPAL to arrive.
But you could call the ON CFO if it would make you feel better.

Call the ontario CFO's number. (705) 329-5522.

Be polite, friendly and you're good to go. I explained that I needed it for an employment application and they were more then happy to help.

Thanks man, I had a total of 3 people at the CFC and 2 at the CFO deny my request today.
3rd call to CFO went smooth and she hooked me up right away.

My license is also for employment purposes...but mostly for pleasure :dancingbanana:

Moral of the story....keep asking them, they'll eventually give in:cool:

Yeah if it's for a legitimate reason and you can prove your identity they shouldn't have a problem.

The real headache is if your wallet is stolen or lost and you don't know the number. I was jumped a week ago and had my wallet stolen with all my ID in it. Just a bit of advice; write down or make some kind of copy of your licence number and keep it in a safe place. And if you used your driver's licence as ID to have the licence issued, write that down. The CFO will want as much info as possible before they'll give you the number over the phone, and the local PD will want it in the case of loss or theft.
