Hey fellas,

I've got a barrelled action that I picked up off the EE, and the previous owner was unsure of who made the barrel. I'm hoping to determine the contour and/or maker of the barrel, and any insight is appreciated. The dimensions are:

Shank diameter at action face - 1.20"
1" from action - 1.180"
2" - 1.090"
3" - 0.995"
4" - 0.905"
5" - 0.892"
6" - 0.890"
7" - 0.885"
8" - 0.881"
9" - 0.877"
10" - 0.872"
11" - 0.870"
12" - 0.865"
13" - 0.860"
14" - 0.855"
15" - 0.850"
16" - 0.845"
17" - 0.842"
18" - 0.839
27" - 0.805"

This isn't the best pic, but it's the only one I've got right now that shows the barrel.

The smith who originally installed it will know if he remembers.
All barrels and contours look alike and not really indistinguishable as the only mark is on the shank end of the barrel when they are made. That gets removed when chambered and fitted.

If it shoots just pick your favorite barrel maker, or whatever sounds good and tell your friends that's what it is. If it shoots badly pick a barrel maker you don't like.
You can't lose.

If you look at the chamber side are there any marking our initials on the barrel? a lot of barrel masters put their Mark and caliber info on the chamber end. Take the bolt out and look thru the back and see if there are any there.

barrel makers always stamp their name on the chamber end of a barrel blank and it gets cut off. you will never find a barrel makers name on a barrel unless it was a drop in barrel..
i sometimes have to turn down a barrel a few thou to clean it up and to make it fit the recoil lug and action so no name would survive.
