I bought a new .223 rifle a while back, and since I never owned one before I also bought a large batch of 1x fired brass to use in it. But then several hundred cases needed trimming. No fun with hand crank trimmer. I almost bought a power trimmer for hundreds of dollars, but solved my problem for a few cents. Unscrewed the handle. Found a "fine" thread nut in my odds 'N ends drawer with a flange on the bottom, 3/8" hole x 5/8" hex head. Picked up my rechargeable drill with a 5/8" nut driver installed, "Voilà!" Instant cheap power trimmer that is convenient, fast, and works just fine.

I did the same thing with a 1/2 drill on my RCBS manual trimmer except after removing the crank handle the drill chuck fit right on the shaft.
