Hey guys, I've found two 30 round magazines from when I was in the US Army that somehow managed to find their way into an old footlocker that I stored my junk in.

I'd like to sell them since I don't have a black rifle, nor do I plan on getting one anytime soon...the question is, how do I pin the magazines so that I can sell them? I just don't feel comfortable even having them around as they are right now.

Whats the easiest way? Or do you guys think it'd would be more effort than what I could sell them for?

The way I've done them by pinning the spine:
- load five casings and measure to the top of the follower at the spine.
- Strip the mag, and add the dimension of the follower to your total +3/16" for loading on a closed bolt.
- Mark the spine precisely and use a centering punch on the mark.
- Drill out the hole.
- Countersink the hole with a drill bit that replicates the size of your rivet.
- Use a bastard file to clean up the inside of the spine if required.
- put the magazine back together and install an aluminum rivet.
- File rivet head down flush with the mag body.
- Function test.

I believe that you could disassemble them and still be in compliance with the law....

After that, pinning would become the new owners trouble.

lol...I was just thinking that!
Beltfed's instructions were very straightforward, thanks a bunch. If I have to actually pin them before I sell them thats exactly how I'll do it. But like I said, I don't actually have a rifle or rounds so the sizing and function check could be tough.

Any idea what these would go for? (I can't see EE and all my searches show US prices) They show wear on the outside from being in my ammo pouches but aren't dented or damaged.
