I have a No.4 Mk.1 Enfield that was sportered and someone put a nasty front sight on it that I would like to remove since it is scoped, but I don't have any idea how it is attached to the barrel?
Is there a typical way this is done (ie. soldered or something) without using screws? I don't see any screws sticking out of anywhere to remove and there don't seem to be any seems either.
Am I SOL and just need to take it to a gunsmith to remove? Any help would be appreciated.

Pretty hard to say without seeing it. Is there a band? Soft solder or silver solder are possibilities. Screws invariably show.
Could you email or post a photo?

ya it looks like it's soldered to me as there's no band or anything like that on it. So that's the trick, eh? Just a propane torch aimed at the sight and not the barrel. I'll give it a try
Thankx!
