I've got her striped down, just can't figure out how to get the Operating Rod Guide Block off...if anyone knows, PLEASE let me know!!! :dancingbanana:

HA - if only it were that easy. It seems like my M14 is the exception to all other M14's out there in that our communist friends made mine particularily tough to disassemble. I'm not even going to talk about the difficulties encountered while removing the flash hider...Anyway, there is no pin, it appears like they used some form of sealent instead. It took me and my brother almost an hour to loosen the damned thing enough to get it off...but it's off and I've completed the mod's I wanted (for now) and now it's time to have a drink. Cheers! :dancingbanana:

Hmmmmmm.....

I have 3 M14s in the closet, I have owned 22 of the bastards , but I can't figure out what the hell is an "Operating Rod Guide Block"

It might help if you got the nomenclature right. There are lots of labeled schematics on the internet.

I think I know what you are talking about, but if someone doesn't and you follow his advice, bad, bad juju could disrupt your range day.

Seriously, learn the parts of your new rifle. It goes a long way in understanding the function of the firearm and save you grief in the future.:D

Sounds like the op-rod guide.....but you don't know til ya know.

At least post a clear picture so we can see what you might be screwing up.

Also......why the hell are you removing it????? That's the real question.
