Bought a synthetic stock to replace the wood stock that came with an 870 express combo (12 ga.) - it's not obvious how to get the stock off - two small holes in the recoil pad - are there screws in there somewhere?

Any tips appreciated - of course, I've left this until the night before a hunting trip (doh!) :runaway:

I found the diagram right after posting - looks like there are phillips screws in there.

Back to the shop to give it a try. :dancingbanana:

Try greasing the shaft of the screwdriver to reduce tearing and maring of buttpad

Appreciate the tips - thanks. I ended-up using a set of c-ring pliers to remove the retaining ring at the far end of the forestock -> not sure what they intended for use on that... otherwise it was pretty straight forward once I realized there were phillips screws in the recoil pad.
