How to shoot this Benelli?

A buddy has too many guns and loaned me his brand new unfired Benelli Vinci.

I'm used to my Remington 870, my Browning A5 and Gold Hunter, but after assembling this Vinci and trying to load it with a snap cap I have questions.

With the Brownings for example, all I have to do is #### the gun and load a shell in the magazine and press the button and it automatically picks it up and loads the chamber.

The Benelli doesn't do that.

I only had one snap cap.

So anyway, how do I load the gun?

Pull the bolt back so it locks, load a single in the chamber and press the button to release the bolt onto the shell and then load the magazine?

I am not sure I am picking up what you are putting down.
But I am going to take a guess at it.

The benelli's know the difference between firing a shell and cycling a round. If you JUST cycle it, it will NOT put a round on the lifter plate to feed into the chamber. It thinks you are just trying to clear the chamber. If you fire or dryfire it, and then work the action it should kick it out onto the lifter to load a new one.

There should also be an extra button on the shotgun that kicks the round from the tube onto the lifter if you are trying to feed one into the chamber without shooting it first.

Make sense?

Yes. Interia driven so it needs to fire a shell to dump one.

Mag Release button at front of trigger guard to release shell from mag on Benelli.

On a beretta its at the rear of the mag shell lifter/carrier.

Hold on a second, your buddy has too many guns??? This is a concept that I'm just not able to wrap my head around.

You wouldn't believe it unless you saw it.

He's tried to bring some to the shop for sale on consignment and drops 3 off and buys another one. Latest is a Ruger Model 77 in 44 mag.

Last week it was a 1913 Savage in 30-30.
