Greetings,

Rather than go the restricted route with an AR15 or M4 I would rather go the path of least resistance and get a Norinco M14 and SOCOM the heck out of it.

I would appreciate any help, insights or opinions you may have on what is the best way to do this and where to get the parts.

If there are real issues with the Norc as opposed to the "It's a Norinco so it must be a piece of crap" school of thought I would like to hear them please.

Thanks,

Matt

I don't know much about the SOCOM except for the fact that I want one :D. hmmm, Sounds like a cool idea, you'll just have to keep the barel at 18.5 i guess.
I have heard/read/recommend a Hungry M14 clinic if you can. I plan on a SR clinic myself

I routinely perform 18.5inch barrellled "squad rifle" modifications to chinese m14 rifles, see my sigline for current deals running till end of august

I had mine (Polytech) shortened and accurized by m14 Doctor and am very satisfied with the results. PM me if you would like more details or pics. I also have the Smith navy brake installed and think it looks pretty swanky. :D
