I obtained a Rem 700 .223 in package deal. Has 26" black fluted SS barrel and looks like the beavertail forearm HS precision stock. In doing some reading it seems these are the Sendero edition of the Remington 700 but it is not stamped Sendero anywhere. Do they usually have Sendero stamped on the barrell or receiver? Appreciate your input

I believe they are basically the same gun, but the Senderos were chambered in big game hunting rounds from 25-06 and up. Possibly all of them were long action calibers as well.

Thanks for the info guys. The VSSF ( Varmint Stainles steel Fluted) was the clue I needed. Found another thread that confirmed your input. Same rifle, same barrel, same HS stock but the long action (25-06 and up) were called Sendero anf the short action like my .223 were called VSSF

What is approx' value of a .223 VSSF Rem 700? I have a surplus of .223s and will likely offer it for sale to some local coyote hunter
