Decided to give my Mk II a deep cleaning the other day and while I was at it I used some epoxy putty to add some bearing points for sh**ts and giggles. Between that and the deep clean it seems to have settles on Eley club as it's consistently favorite load, with Tenex and Team close behind.

Not Bone stock but here are the details:

-Pre accutrigger MkII BV
-Rifle Basix trigger
-Cheapie Bushnell banner 3.5-10X(getting replaced someday)
-5 minute epoxy putty bedding job

How are your savages shooting, modified or otherwise? All models welcome too!:sniper:

All groups are 5 shots at 50 yards, light wind blowing from behind me.

:p

Mine did the same, but has been a bit pickier lately. AE always shot well through her, but have not bought any in a long time. Besides, "expensive" rimfire ammo is still much cheaper than any centrefire.

OH, forgot to add:

My old semi savage wouldn't shoot AE worth ####,lots of misfires.Thought maybe it was a bad batch of ammo so I put it away.It shot every other kind of ammo very well it just didn't like the AE.I ended up shooting the rest of my brick of AE through my BL-22 with no problems.

Every type of ammo I've tried in my sons cub shoots well including AE.

My stock model "G" will do the same groupings with the cheapest ammo I load through it :D

This is what I like reading... I personally don't care how well they shoot using high end/pricey target ammo but rather the cheap stuff. My Savage TR has done 5 shot groups of .500'' @ 50 yards no problem. And at 100 yards the best I've done now with CCI Blazer is 1.1875''. No, its not consistent but obviously capable which is what matters.

But if it wont shoot acceptable groups with cheap ammo then I don't want it.

If mine had the target barrel it would better as well. Mine is good enough to bring the grouse home and thus the reason I bought it.

Problem I found in my particualr rifle was that one batch of the cheap ammo would be supremely accurate, but the next lot of the same brand would shoot only so so(between .500 and 1.000 inches at 50 yards). I am planing on sticking with the ELEY since it is still a lot cheaper than centrefire and is alyaws consistent in my rifle.

my pre accu mkII witha cheap 4 power bushnell scope can shoot a goup the size of a dime at 50 yards and a quarter at 100. She's a great shooter and bone stock. i've enver even taken it apart... EVER. ran a bore snake through her once 5 or 6 years ago lol. great gun.
